I have self-frozen accounts, but never actually then requested to re-activate my accounts, so yeah. Really, it's a hassle. Unless you've been scammed, and want to de-activate the account for a while (to return to it later), there's no point in it, really.

TNT won't delete accounts unless they are inactive for a very long, long time. Those special times are database purges, which I've only seen about 2-3 times in eight years. It's is a common practice in the industry to deactivate but not delete accounts, because they really want you to keep it. It's not to their benefit to lose customers. (Just think about all those "Come back to us" promotions you get every time you switch from one phone/internet/cable company to another. It's the same business philosophy.)

I've lost a few things to scamming, but nothing big.
Also, it's not true that TNT will only return your pets if you're prem and they're draiks.
Recently, someone got into my account, pounded a baby chomby. I then sent in a ticket, and got it back ^_^ but the other account were frozen, so that might have something to do with it. But it wasn't such a big deal, and I got it back in a matter of two weeks or so.

TNT is so dumb, when they freeze you, they do chain freeze all of my accounts even new shells

People may be able to get into the database but it does not mean that they are going to target all the good accounts, maybe they choose random ones to sell, or get money off of.

I am sorry to hear people have gotten hacked before but it has never happened to me :)

I was hacked by my sis... lost a Halloween Paint Brush. :( Luckily, none of my pets are worth anything except my grey kougra. And they didn't steal him. [...]

Well after not playing for a very long time, I thought I would start playing again. Well while I was not playing it seems I was scammed somehow. They took my Draik and replaced it with a Chomby.... as well as my Christmas Meowclops. They also took all my gallery items and god knows what else, they changed my pass and email and I cant get into it and have contacted TNT. I am hoping they can do something even though its been awhile since it happened. Thought I have about the time it happened. I had no clue this happened and I am pretty paranoid about my accounts. The only thing I just now realized was that I stopped getting mails from neopets.

I am really hoping I can get everything restored *crosses fingers*.

If you've been playing illegitly, how do you feel about approaching TNT about your hacked account?

Hmm thats a hard question. I guess it depends on how much you lost and how old the account is. I mean either way all they can say is no :)

Oh, yes, my side was also hacked once. :( They stole my beloved Faerie Cybunny by trading it for their baby uni. I found the cybunny today on an account that hasn't been active for 20 days. :p

tayloi, didn't you report it? If not, have you thought about reporting it to TNT now that you've found it?
