wow i'm 15 and i dont drink and my parents get wasted like all the time. They let me and my brothers drink but i always go to take a drink and gag as soon as i smell it xD i guess it's a good thing though cuz they drug test athletes at my school and if you're drinking they'll catch it and give you a two week athletic suspension so you can't even practice, also my brother was a biznitch and like poured a shot of vodka down my throat one night cuz he was throwing a party and i wasn't drinking and it like burned my mouth and throat... so i couldn't give a rat's butt if everybody else is drinking or everybody thinks i sit at home all alone on saturday nights when they die of liver failure i'm just gonna laugh
Eh, I started drinking at 13 and smoking weed at 14, as long as it doesn't get out of control, it's not really a big deal. I've gotten out of control with certain drugs and THAT has repercussions.
I am not a big drinker myself, never was. I could never get into the bar scene like the rest of my friends. Its such a waste of money!! For what? Puke and a hangover. no thanks!
I'm twenty and I've never liked alcohol much. Not for lack of trying...! I just don't like the taste : ( Which kind of sucks when all your friends are getting wasted, and there you are, being a party pooper... but, eh. They're totally cool with me not drinking. I don't particularly want to get drunk; I don't really want a hangover/be nauseous. It's not really worth the pain of actually drinking just to feel like I'm part of the group ^^; ...I got tipsy off Nyquil once in seventh grade...that was hilarious xD I was finishing up a school project that night, too, and the next morning looked at it and could see my handwriting get gradually messier as the medicine kicked in...
I'm in college where everyone drinks but I have never been much of a drinker myself. I'd rather not deal with the negative effects when there is other ways to have fun.
Im not really against it. Once I changed school sophmore year in HS it introduced me to that scene. Now on weekends nd stuff, you know, whatever happens happens
I think teens should have a lot more useful things to do. I used to drink a fair bit, nowadays I'm lucky to have 3 drinks in 3 months. I've never gotten why *most* people need to drink to have a good time, when it comes down to it we don't, guess it's just the way the world is and I really can't talk. If I have my way my daughter won't be having a drink until she's legal age (18)
I posted on here once, but I have more thoughts. I don't get hangovers. I have Native American blood in me, so pretty much any alcohol goes down like water.. and I started drinking at parties with friends, then I realized how much I liked it. So I started each day out with jello shots and drank beer throughout the day, then hit the hard alcohol at night when the parties happened. I spent TONS of my time hugging the grass outside throwing my guts up, or in a cold bathtub that my friends stuck me in to sober up in. I didn't see a damn thing wrong with it. And it all culminated to one VERY bad night.. spent a night drinking with friends (newly-acquired skill of shotgunning beer) and things ended badly. I was arrested. I was sitting in the holding cell, sobering up and haven't touched the sauce since. I just realized I'm so much better than that. And I've always known I'm better, but I realized no one else knew, because I wasn't showing it. Now I'm sober and I'm amazed how much more fun it is to go outside and DO something. It's like this whole new world opened up.
Exactly. I don't see why the social norm is to have alcohol when going out when many other things are suitable (and good to drink) and less likely to lead to any sort of trouble.
There's nothing wrong with drinking a little so long as you don't get completely smashed. Binge drinking in the UK is terrible, its so common that its basically accepted as normal now. I drink a bit but i'm careful not to go over the top.
I am not fond of drinking alcohol frequently. I only drink wine when I want to gain weight aside from that I haven't drink any alcoholic drinks
I'm 20 and I've never had an alcoholic beverage in my life. I don't even drink soda. I don't care what people think of me.
first time i drank alcohol was 7 and nowadays during holidays, i just fool around and tell my mom i can drink and i try a sip but end up spitting it out for me, it doesnt taste that good
its cool that if you dont want to drink that your friends dont force you but sometimes it is fun just getting drunk lol
I rarely drink to get drunk unless I'm out with friends for that particular purpous, but I do love a small glass of scotch or two in the evening while I'm reading a book or getting ready to go to bed. It's very relaxing.
i dont drink.. it's because i cant get past that really bitter taste i get when i drink alcohol.. but that's just me but dont get me wrong, i have drunk a couple of beers and other drinks, i just haven't found something that i liked
