i think we will be leaving soon, we got their oil, and their dictator who we put into power and gave him mass weapons. so since we have nothing else to take and i doubt we will help rebuild what weve destroyed, there is no point for us to stay

    we got their oil???

I don't think so... it's still pumping... as for what the US has gotten is half a TRILLION dollars in debt and lost 3000+ young men/women that could have amounted to something a lot more important than Bush's ego, not to mention over 30,000 disabled and that's not even mentioning the number of Iraqi's that lost their lives which is measured in the tens of thousands.

So we just got their oil... I think not IMHO

You OVERestimate the government. It's just a bunch of random people, half of which are most likely idiots. Politics is now more about popularity rather than putting peoples beliefs into effect. We don't vote geniuses to office, we vote idiots who say in some way they will get us more moneh!

I'm quite worried about what the troops (British ones) are doing in Iraq. A friend of mine recently did a tour there (he's a communications technician) and all they seemed to do was mess around and not particularly contribute anything to rebuild society over there. I understand that such a newly formed government may need supervision but sure that can by done by the UN rather than the troops of various countries?
