Yeah I was surprised when I saw that. I can't figure out what caused it, because I have the exact same ISP and live 200 ft away, but my download is way higher than my upload speed.
double post but who cares omg my speed varies so much, last time i tried it 17mbps download speed, now (with ffaber running)
D: Do you guys just have dial-up at school!?!?!? Like seriously...it's university...wtf...invest in some cables pl0x
It could be partially because of the distance, too. I ran my speed test again on campus, further from the server, and it was 1/4 of the speed that I got when I was at home.
Just so everyone knows: These speeds are measured in kiloBITS per second, not Kilobytes. ISPs always quote you the speed in kb/s because most people don't realize that it takes 8 kb to make a Kb (Kilobyte. What your computer's storage is probably in... Gigabytes, etc) My speed pretty much matches my actual download speed of rapidshare. I download at just over 800 Kb/s. 800x8 = 6400, or 6400 kb/s as my download speed.
That's terrible for a school network. Especially with ethernet! For me: Download ~74k kbps Upload ~53k kbps on campus In my apartment...idk way slower lol.
