Leaving the toilet seat up.

I'm a girl and I don't mind if the toilet seat is left up for that very reason. You put it up, I pull it down. The only time it bothers me is at night when I'm half asleep and end up falling into the toilet, which has happened on more than one occasion.

 

A man leaving the seat up wouldn't bother me as much as there being pee on the seat, whether it's up or down.
Hell, some girls pee on the seat (*coughmyyoungersistercough*) so it's not a gender thing.
I'm female, but I'm not that picky about the seat. Seriously, if you can't touch the top of the seat to put it back down in position, by all means get a freaking box of Wet Wipes to use to manuver the seat with. Geez

 

Here is my major concern:
When you flush a toilet, particles become aerosolized, which means fecal matter is now floating through your bathroom.
What else do you keep in your bathroom? Your toothbrush.

Put the seat AND lid down.
That way, everyone has to open and close the toilet for each use.

 

I agree with everyone who said leave the lid down - I do this all the time at home because it's much cleaner. It's also good if you don't want to see someone's else floating fecal matter. If I know someone else recently used the bathroom to poop and left the lid down, I just flush it another time without lifting the lid up. In college, there is no lid (well at least in my college) so I just place it down as common courtesy.

Four Reason why men should put it down
1. I dont want to touch the pissy & shitty toilet seat (although i clean mine all the time). Im sorry but it seems from my knowledge that guys piss on the seat i dont know how or why but they do.
2. Its common courtesy, just like holding the door open for a woman, or helping her lift soemthing heavy. You know that sort of thing.
3. We expect it to be down, cause thats just what we do we go to the bathroom & sit we dont look we just sit. If you dont put it down well sit into the toilet & anyone who has done this knows how maddening this is.
4. Cause you dont want to hear us bitch! Pick your battles boys! lol

Im a guy and i even get annoyed when my dad leaves it up lol
dont know why no girls live with us, its just like programmed into my head to have it down

 

It should be left down covered so the stench will be mitigated. That's the only reason there is a toilet cover, why defeat it's purpose.

 

Some of us prefer to flush.

 

I always leave it up. then again i live by myself right now lol
