    The answer is 40

    It has to be with the levels of Hanna and the Pirates Cave.

    Re: LENNY CONUDRUM ANSWERS ONLY!!! NO TALKING!

    Round Number: 294
    Puzzle:

    When Dr. Sloth was remodeling the east wing of the Virtupets Space Station, he set aside a spherical area for the auxiliary water tank. When full, the sphere could contain exactly 1200 cubic metres of water (or any other liquid, for that matter). However, as a cost-cutting measure, he outsourced the water tank construction to a company that only built water tanks in the shape of regular icosahedrons constructed out of 3 centimetre-thick, low-grade aluminum.

    If the icosahedron tank is the largest it can possibly be while still fitting within the spherical area, what is the volume of the tank in cubic metres? Please round down to the nearest tenth of a cubic metre. For example, if you find the volume to be 288.7872 cubic metres, submit 288.7 as your answer.

    Logic:

    Sphere:
    Known: Volume of the sphere is 1200 cubic meters.
    (V)olume = 4/3*pi*(r)adius^3
    1200 = 4/3*pi*r^3
    1200/pi = 4/3*r^3
    3[1200/pi] = 4*r^3
    [3[1200/pi]]/4 = r^3

    The cube root of ([3[1200/pi]]/4) = r

    r = 6.592207650508867

    Because the new icosahedron must fit inside of the old sphere, and the aluminum is 3 centimeters thick, we must subtract 3 centimeters from the radius of the sphere to give us the proper radius for the next equation.

    r = 6.562207650508867

    The Equation for a sphere which circumscribes a regular icosahedron follows:

    (r)adius of the sphere = (a) length of an edge /2 * The square root of [(Rho) which is the golden ratio * The square root of 5.]

    r = 0.9510565163*a
    r/0.9510565163 = a
    a = 6.562207650508867/0.9510565163

    a = 6.89991345208226612305269

    The equation for volume of a regular icosahedron given the length of one edge follows:

    (V)olume = (5/12)*(3+ The Square Root of 5)*a^3
    V = 2.18169499*a^3
    V = 2.18169499*6.89991345208226612305269^3
    V = 2.18169499*328.4966385159637

    V = 716.67947

    Because we are to round down, the answer is 716.6 (cubic meters)

    Answer: 716.6

    Round number: 296
    Puzzle:
    Working out: I'll post this later. The idea was pretty simple but the actual work took me 2.5 pages. It involved using Heron's formula and Law of Cosines.
    Answer: 216886 (216886.27839945 to be exact)
    Note: While I know my method to be right, the actual answer might not. Let's just say there were a LOT of number and degrees and stuff...so I might have dropped a digit or something...ack. But hopefully nothing major since I did check it over once.

    There's a spiffy-looking circle thing with some letters. You count them. It's all very marvelous.

    Anyway, you get the question "Jhudora has lips of what colour?"

    The answer is "Green", for those of you who don't want to try to find a picture of her. :)

    If you hurry, you might get in the top 250. It's been out less than an hour, I think.

    EDIT: oh, and the icky math one from last week was 623671.

    LC 302

    271 - 482 = 436

    148 + 591 = 866

    4881 + 8914 = 6562

    8827 * 1178 = ?

    Do NOT show your work; submit only a single number, with no punctuation, as your answer.

    271 - 482 = 436
    BGA - DHB = DCF

    342 - 173 = 169

    148 + 591 = 866
    ADH + EIA = HFF

    217 + 582 = 799

    4881 + 8914 = 6562
    DHHA + HIAD = FEFB

    1771 + 7821 = 9593

    8827 * 1178 = 48289169
    HHBG * AAGH = DHBHIAFI

    Answer: 17d6bwr

    Question:

    Suppose you have a base-36 number system, so that the digits are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C... By using this system, you can spell all kinds of words with the digits. For example, the base-36 number NEOPETS would equal 50954016592 in the base-10 numbering system.

    Find three base-36 numbers that spell different Neopet species:
    - The species name, in base-36, that is a prime number
    - The species name, in base-36, that has the most prime factors
    - The species name, in base-36, whose largest prime factor is the smallest of all of the species' largest prime factors.

    Add these three numbers together, and submit the total in base-36 form. Do not submit any other information.

    Working:

    The species name, in base-36, that is a prime number is Korbat (1250908661)
    The species name, in base-36, that has the most prime factors is Moehog (1371242752)
    The species name, in base-36, whose largest prime factor is the smallest of all of the species' largest prime factors is Ixi (24534)

    Total is 2622175947
    Convert that to base-36, and you get 17d6bwr.

    Answer: Tuna

    Question:

    The following pairs of sentences have a pattern. Can you figure it out?

    Never jump out and shout "boo!" Especially in front of an ornate mural.

    Where would you like to go? Hopefully, somewhere away from home.

    I hold in my fingers a sharp pin. To pop the balloon, it's my only hope.

    My floor is covered with an orange and blue rug. Underneath, the floor is polished oak.

    John was very skinny. Perhaps it was because he only ate ______.

    What is the missing word? Please submit only a single word as your answer.

    Working:

    Too lazy to explain it, but I'm relatively sure.

    Tuna is unscrambled from tuan.

    Re: LENNY CONUDRUM ANSWERS ONLY!!! NO TALKING!

    (+rep if this helped you)
    Answer: 1042

    (however it could also be '801'. I'm not sure :/)

    Question:

    At a certain shop, a Polarchuck is available for 412 Neopoints, a sock puppet is 81 Neopoints, and a hot dog is 965 Neopoints.

    How many Neopoints would a candle cost? Please enter only a number with no other information.

    Working:

    Okay, it's not that simple. The cost relates to Game ID's, and the item is just something found in the game.

    To explain:

    Polarchuck: found in Snowmuncher (Game ID 412)
    Sock puppet: found in Splat-a-sloth (Game ID 81)
    Hot Dog: found in Hot Dog Hero (Game ID 965)

    Now: the candle.
    A candle could relate either to Mutant Graveyard of Doom II (Game ID 1042), or Korbat's Lab (Game ID 801).

    Logic:

    In MGoD2, you hold a candle. This is also the only game that is returned when you search 'candle', as is Snowmuncher when you search 'polarchuck'.

    In Korbats Lab, candles are evident. They are not the main feature of the game, but there are flames and candles everywhere.

    I would say that it is most likely 1042, but do not rule out 801 as an answer.

    To verify the answer as 1042 look at the trophies

    Snowmuncher = Polarchuck

    Hot Dog Hero = Hot Dog

    Splat-A-Sloth = Sock Puppet

    Mutant Graveyard Of Doom = Candle

    Hpe this helps clarify it
