Even if they do not inflate because of KQ, they will inflate solely because we have tons of people here buying them up at low prices. Therefore the thousands and thousands of people who price their shops see higher prices, and price theirs higher. We are raising prices by ourselves, really.
...the point is that KQ will DEFLATE the price, since it gives out codestones as prizes...making it more difficult for people on these forums to inflate
While that may sound right, the trends are showing otherwise. The few days after this thread was started, the average tai-kai codestone cost 3750 nps. Today, when people aren't hoarding as many codestones as in the beginning of this thread, the tai-kai codestone average goes for 4000 nps. That's 250 np raise with only a few thousand codestones taken off the market. Of course there are cheaper codestones out there, but I'm using an average of the first result of several wiz searches. If people keep hoarding codestones, the keyquest will not matter as much as one might think.
i cant believe how hard it is to buy codestones under 4000. I have only found 5 priced under 4k so it is working lol...
i have 1000 bought at 4k and under. so if u tell me there not inflating??? check the sw i believe they are now more around 4.1k
It looks like prices seem to be deflating a bit, or they might just be low at the moment...lots going for around 3900 if you guys are interested.
Ive been playing keyquest and am getting the codestones still. I think that might be a problem for the inflation tactics.
Here's the thing. There are at least a million tai-kai codestones in existance. Probably more. Yes. A million. At least 100k in shops when you search. More in peoples' SDBs waiting there. Codestones are some of the oldest items still in circulation. They were given out at tombola for EONS. It's going to be nearly impossible to make a /lasting/ dent in the prices. Lasting enough to get rid of your own. When people inflate items, they dont take into account one key thing. If you have 10,000 of an item. It goes up by 2k. In your head you're all "HOT DAMN I JUST MADE 20 MIL!!!!". In reality, you still have to sell off those 10k items. If you put them into your shop all at once (or as many as you can hold), you'll cause the prices to go down as people price theirs under yours. If you sell them off gradually, the item will deflate in the time it takes you to do that. Inflation rarely works, unless you can control a huge portion of the market.
I agree with Hallandale. Plus now that you can get a codestone for free from KeyQuest with half an hour of play, who's going to bother spending 5k on a tai-kai codestone (I just won one myself). Right now the prices are still around 3.5k to 4k.
KQ is giving out worse prizes more often now...it's much harder to get 3 codestones/neggs with one key...usually I only get 1 decent item with a gold/silver key...I don't think codestone prices are going to deflate
I imagine that codestones would be a very hard item to inflate. There are so many of them, you would have to control a huge portion to make it go up enough to make a profit.
I disagree. With Key Quest giving them out, and the good players who suck up 30+ a day for training quitting, I expect they'll drop to under 3k within two months or so. Same thing with neggs. If Key quest indeed does give them out, i've never played it, and I suspect it does, judging by the amount of neggs i see in auctions nowadays, we may see neggs dropping down to a rate of about 1k a negg point. Stellar for anyone who wants to speed train. The item "Negg" used to be 2800 np, it's down to 1.5k now. 1.5k a point seems to be what it's at right now actually. I was losing hope for my goal of training for a top 50 pet. I might start back up again.
how does a person speed train a pet... (a noob question i know) Do they Trade them in at the neggery?
Oh yes. These drops in prices are wonderful for trainers like me... However, the drop in prices isn't so wonderful for people who try to sell items like that.
