And you would have to be a level3 to become a level 4 Phobia « Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:11 pm » or 1,000 Phobia « Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:11 pm » 700 would be great Phobia « Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:11 pm » I almost have 500 psots Phobia « Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:10 pm » That would be awesome Adam « Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:10 pm » cuz thats the only issue really Phobia « Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:10 pm » Yes! Adam « Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:10 pm » maybe ther shud be a level 3 @ like 700 posts and all current level3s wud be level 4s so that ppl who are currently very active 2s feel like ther better than the newbs that spam themseelves to level2 in 5 days Basically all current Level 3s should now be Level 4s, and Level 3 will be acquired by getting 500 or 750 or 1,000 posts, whatever just a really high number. This is suggested because there are SOOOOO many Level 2s and those who are very active feel like they are in a rank with everyone, or people who are inactive. I think its a great idea, whats your take?
I don't this is good because this is a forum mainly for neopets cheating or neopets chat. Not many people post every day and if they do its nothing that can really get a thread going past 10 post. I just don't think this place has enough members that are active enough to be thinking about ranks for post over 1000. Maybe when we have like 100+ members that visit the board regularly then it would be a better time to think about something like this.
We have about 100 active members, or close to 100 at least. Its just that not all of them sign in at the same time. And some people might leave because they haven't made progress in the forum. But as a modification, I think the post requirements should all change to accommodate. Maybe even add a Level 5 (I don't like the number 4 ) I'm thinking something like: Level 1: 50 Level 2: 150 Level 3: 400 Level 4: 800 Level 5: Voting, Level 3+ to be eligible
I agree with your idea Zer0. More levels mean more colors, which means more variety. And harder ranks to get means more people will possibly become active.
If we really do have 100+ members (I never noticed them =/) Then I agree with zero's method. Level 1-5. Or we can make it level 1-10.
"There were 97 active users over the last 24 hours:" There's usually around 100-120 about 40% are just newbs who leave after a day or two. But that's compensated by people who just don't login daily.
There Should Be Levels 1-5... But what should the colors be? What benefits will 4 and 5 get? I think levels 4-5 you should have to apply, but like once every few weeks, and occaisonally, they should get some sort of Mod Powers?
I dont like how people can get to level 1 or 2 in a couple days... I think this would be good Newb Beginner - 25 posts Lvl 1 - 125 posts Lvl 2 - 325 posts Lvl 3 - Specials ...high post limits and things means more activity too.
Well, that only happens if you really really work hard at getting Level 1/2. You shouldn't raise the limit just because a couple users massively post at the expense of good members who post a few constructive posts a day. Rank isn't just determined by the number of posts, I'm sure that we can all spot and differentiate between the spammers and the helpful people without looking at what level they are. Also, more activity isn't always good. It'll usually end up with useless spam. I think we need more constructive topics instead of the usual poll-type thread.
Good point, I just think a lot of people don't like the "newbie" tag, I mean once you make 25 posts or so I don't consider them a newbie. I remember when I was a newbie I was trying to get to the Lvl 1 rank as fast as I could, just didn't like that tag. Getting to level 2 didn't matter to me, although I like it more than newbie. Maybe for Lvl 1 you need to be a week old and for level 2 you need to be 2 weeks old??
I actually think that this is perfect... Of course all current lvl 3s can be shot immediately up to level 5s lets see wat ricky or expon will say.. Im sure theyd be in favor of this cuz it sets new goals for ppl who are currently level2s and would promote increased activity
If someone did made this topic a few months ago people would have said other things... But the world is changing Personally, I wouldn't like but it's not like I'm the king or something :maha:
I like the 1 - 5 idea having more levels that are harder to get into is a really good idea. I've been level 2 for God knows how long and people get to level 2 in a matter of weeks it just seems kind of unfair. My thinking is: Level 1 : 50 Posts Level 2: 200 Posts Level 3: 400 Posts Level 4: 700 Posts & 2 Awards (More exclusive as you will need to of contributed something specific like to giveaway the winner award shouldn't be included in this) Level 5: Like the current level 3 you put in an application and level 3's vote on who is promoted. This way things are more evenly distributed and everyone would get a level that they deserve. Just my 2 cents ^^
Too many levels are gay. However, too less has no point either. We need to find that balance where it doesn't take a million years to get to the highest or too less. I think 4 or 5 may do the trick.
I doubt ppl leave because the reached the highest level possible. Hey I didnt get to vote 32 ppl is not really a good assessment)
This has been suggested quite a few times already. I'd put Level 4 as 800 posts though and no award requirement. Doing stuff in the forum is already rewarded by giving the little banner on the side and possibly +reps, no need to stretch it to Levels requirements. Besides, most people who have that many posts already have the award requirements needed.
just rising the number of posts for lev 1-2 should do the trick... 4 days for level 2 is to easy IMO. I don't see the interest in 523482347 levels here.
