Level 3 and Level 4. A new take to even out the ranks.

Yes, that will balance the forum more, but it might also discourage users. I know when I first joined, 75 posts seemed quite a bit, and 300 posts (old Level 2 requirement) was A LOT.

 

Now 75 posts are actually worse given the active topics there are on the forums :yup:
It's easy to accidentally grave dig sometimes because people reply to whatever is on the first page half the time and some stuff on the bottom of the first page is already from like, late August.

But aside from that not to mention I noticed that the newbie people always post one word answers, not engaged in the topic of conversing. Also the fact they don't read the actual topic content. They just post an answer after reading the topic title. It's kind of aggravating sometimes you are trying to make a thread to actually converse with people and what not and some new member comes in and posts something totally irrelevant.

 

Now Level 3's Post Count ?!?!??
Ugghhh...... Well, guess I'm Level 3, Hopefully I'll get voted for level 4!

 

IMO, the current lvling is ok, since the main idea is to go with good posts and no spam.
Also, ranks provide NOT much advantage other than the reputation part...
Imagine if the downloads system worked with ranks... wouldnt that encourage spam?

 

I don't have any disagrements here if we could be directly converted, level 2 to level 3 and so on.

I have a new suggestion levels should be reached my age and # of posts. For example.

level 1: 1month and 100 post
level 2: 2months and 200 post
level 3: 3months and 300 post
and so on

this will greatly reduce spamming and ppl reaching level II in a week.

 

I think something like this would be good with the current rankings.

Level I: 1 week, 75 posts
Level II: 1 month, 200 posts
Level III: Same
Progs, Mods, Admins...obv

 

well the goal is not to make it "harder" but for people to earn there keep.... I can say that allot of level two's have helped out with the website substantially. There are allot of level 2's that put genuine work into this board and for new members getting the level two designation so fast is pitiful. I have been here for almost a year and i was only a level2 in the last 5-6 months.

i think adding a new rank and post count is a great idea and im game for it.

Glad to see this got many posts and that it spread. I have good ideas... Lets see this implemented and not just discussed.
