Limewire

I love limewire so much but the only thing that's bad about it is sometimes you download movies and it ends up that you can't watch them.

depends what you download some things have viruses but as long as you run a scan after downloading something you should be fine

 

I find it funny that Limewire is the easiest way to get Limewire Pro.

 

You gotta be careful with Limewire. It's getting more viruses everyday. Before you actually dl from Limewire, make sure you know how to distinguish an actual file from a virus...even the Pro version has tons of viruses available to download.

 

I've never gotten a virus off of Limewire, but some people say they do. I don't download bulk files though, just songs.

 

I've used Limewire for music downloads for ages and have never had any problems. Hadn't thought about downloading pro from the normal limewire.. Think I might have a go at that

 

I use Morpheus for movies and music etc.

 

Is BitTorrent free? And how are the chances of virus/spyware and such..

I use direct downloads (like megaupload, etc), bittorrent, and WinMX for my files.

WinMX is great for finding all my Japanese-y stuffs. <3

 

megaupload has bad speeds plus i doubt limewire would give ppl viruses and stuff,ofc its always smart to scan the file too

Yeah i dont use it on my good computer, i have a bad computer that i use it on other wise known as the "porn computer". It has soo many viruses it makes me laugh.

 

viruses arent the problem with limewire for me. i am more worried about the files that the RIAA plant on there to catch people. usually i cannot find things at high enough bitrates anyway. who can stand listening to 128kbps mp3 files?

It is a Peer-2-Peer file-sharing program.
It just basically shares all the files people have on the computer so everyone can download them meaning free download of music, games, video and viruses (if you are stupid enough). Always check the file sizes. If it is 22 bytes then dont download.

 

limewire rarely has viruses and if u have a good virus scanner just download the file and before u open it scan it and then if its clean u can open it cause even if u download it the virus doesnt get into ur comp until u open it..and u can split ur computer to like 2 diff hard drives basically and have all downloads go to one so incase u do get a virus u can delete that section and still have everything u need
