Macs are 100% better, but like OP said, it sucks that a lot of programs aren't made for Mac. That's probably the only reason why I'm still with Windows. That, and I'd have a fun time trying to get used to Mac and learning how to fix things if they go wrong. I know my way around Windows pretty well... kind of hard to start over.
heres the thing i cant say much about macs because i never really used one i mean they are strange little machines and the people that love them seem to cling to the apple with cult devotion. to me it seems that apple makes everything mysterious exclusive and harder to use, but thats cool. the ipod saved the company the mac is still a pain
This is what im talking about, in the PC market people sell you shit you dont need. Its a good buy, and the CPU will last you for ages, but the key to a good PC is a balanace of CPU, RAM , SSD(solid state Hard disk), and if your into gaming a good GPU. The bad thing is sales people like bigger numbers, and the first thing people say is the CPU deterimins the speed (yes and no). Its like having a V8 engine put into a car with 8" tyers, the dam thing wont get much traction. To give you an example, the PC I am running: cpu Intel Core Duo (e7300 @ 2.66GHz), 4gb of ram, on SSD running windows 7 64bit (ultimate)and it boots up in 23sec. Thats right, I can click on IE, firefox and Opera all at the same time when it boots up and they all open up within 1 sec. This computer is 2 1/2 years old by the way not bad for $890 One thing I dont like about apple is, how they cant be repaired easly. You can't do minor upgrades, change batteries, repair them, its always buy a new one, or wait the long wait to get it fixed. I have sent a Mac be repaired 4 times from one problem to begin with. Story: back light of the screen dosnt turn on. After telling them its not working and telling them im a Computer tech and know what im talking about they force me to do their tests, which where useless. They then send out a tech with spare parts. He opens the mac replaces the screen. The user comes back to me, and points out a lump underneath the keyboard. Call again and get the Tech out, he preys its open again. Fixes it. Great, the user comes back to me again after that, the keybord doesnt work now, call out again tech comes again, open and replaces the keyboard. After this fix we noticed the cases started having cracks all down the side of it. Called them out again. They replaced the whole case. Time to fix one Mac 4 months.(thats from first to last problem) Now for the laptops that are not Mac's and are not a shit brand. They come out and fix it within 20min. I have seen a tech open up a lenovo laptop replace 3 parts of it and that was the end of it. SLA (service level agreement) of other laptop vendors= 4 hours response Next buisness day fix. (Apple has the same SLA but never meet it) Longest I had to wait for Lenvo, Acer, Asus, HP, to be fixed 4days and thats when a Part had to be shipped from China. /Ill shut up, :maha:
I have never used MAC, but PC and thats why I can't comment about MAC. I am using PC from the day I had started using computer and I am really happy with that. And, If I start getting bored with PC then only I am gonna try MAC.
PC all the way purely for the fact of how easy they are to upgrade. I understand why people say MACs but as has been mentioned the reason there is less viruses is because their is less MACs, simple.
Every time ive gone on a MAC (College Mac) ive always ended up finding a way to break it some how.. Everything just stops working lol But im great with laptops or Personal Computers so i guess i think PCs are better!
You know never really been on a mac besides the old school ones when I was in like grade 6ish ....mind you im in my 20's now and other then that I have always have PC.... but most everyone knows Mac is better for many many reasons... PC to me is bugs and viruses, have a new PC 15 days old here and great security but yet Ive had to remove viruses already -___- i want a mac!
PC is my first and last choice. Its every feature is superb and awesome. Operating system supporting is super best on it
At the moment, I believe MAC is better. I know several professors who focus in computer security and refuse to purchase PC's. Furthermore, PC's in general are less standardized. All the parts of a PC come from different places/companies/etc., while MACs parts are made in the same area, allow for a more standardized computer. If in need of repairing your laptop, it is much easier to fix your computer due to this standardization.
I've used both, and I find Macs both easier to use and much less prone to viruses, malfunctions, etc. I've never had to worry about viruses on my Mac, as opposed to my old PC where I needed to download protection software and still occasionally got a blue screen. The Windows 7s are a big improvement, if I didn't already own a Mac I don't know if I would've switched.
