You're right, their religion should not be blamed for this. It has clearly been misinterpreted by them. I was more refering to their history, how (if) they were decieved or what the West has done to them. I'm beginning to see your point now, but I think that the main difference between your argument and mine, is that yours is based on the idea of people having a free will, something I don't think is possible until you have reached ego death. But that's another discussion. =)
Yeah, I was going to bring up the point that the religion was a reason, but not an excuse. I mean, you could hardly say that all terrorists who did the many attacks against people because of their religion were not to blame, could you? But those people did choose to interpret their religion in a different way. And as you mentioned, forgiving a person who has done a wrong against you would give you some peace as well, for your own sake.
Well if I was to belive that free will existed prior to death of one's ego, then I can't disagree with you on that. But since my belief is other, I still think that those people aren't responsible for what they've done, since for me, it is only a product of their experiences in life. I do not feel for what they've done, but I see no reason to blame them. If that isn't to fuzzy
yeah you should forgive everyone no matter what in God's eyes all sins are equal, if you stole a candybar vs. murdering someone so you would forgive someone for stealing a candybar rite? so forgive them for everything
