    :eek: go for a sketchy quality, make it seem as if it's hand drawn (no filtering :p).

    Hmm...
    That'll take some time, but I'll see what I can do. :3
    I made a "marker-style" but it doesn't work well with colors like this. :\
    Anyways, thanks for the suggestion. :3

    I think you draw very well. =3 I like the faerie moehog best, the spectrum of tones used on the main body is very nice and draws your attention. -the most drastic tones catch the eye best-

    Try using the paint program SAI, it's really good at colouring effects.

    I hate to revive this dead topic.. But I seriously need some advice on how to color this damn picture. I've been staring at the computer for three hours failing at every style I've tried. ;-;

    I say you should use darker blues and purples, for more of an evil feel.

    Get rid of the red, or at least change it into an undershade of red and cover it with green. Honestly green and red can work so well together, but if you separate them and make both stand out it's going to be a bit difficult. Background does not match the figure in the foreground, you should think about changing your background or at least make it darker to match your character.

    What type of shading style are you going for? It's quite important to get that down first as it can affect the picture in so many ways.

    for the moehog picture, the background is kind of distracting because its the same color as his hair and parts of the wings. try using a different type of blue (a brighter color?)

    Pretty good, your shading could use some work and whatnot, but it's pretty good. :)

    do you use a tablet or do you draw them on paper and scan them onto you're computer? either way they look great and i love the shading :) mostly though cuz i can't figure out how to make shading work xD

    I'm not sure to be honest, I wanted to go for a 'painted' kind to give her that realistic texture, but I don't know now.. :\
    I changed up the sky, made it a storm-type of sky.

    @ceneret - I do a combo of both. I sketched the most recent one on the computer, but yes, I own a tablet.
