Re: My graffiti! I wasn't saying it was only there. I said I took some pics when I was there. Here are some pics I took in Harlem at night. These are metal doors that cover stores at night. Sucky camera does them no justice but still you can make it out somewhat. Enjoy, there are plenty more if anyone wants to see them.
Re: My graffiti! wow, i'm glad i decided not to post in this thread earlier... i was totally going to recommend that book to you and make a fool of myself. i borrowed graffiti world from a friend of mine a while back - there's definitely some amazing work in there. that said, you're off to a great start with your pieces! the lettering of your third (blunt) picture is my favorite out of all of them. this is just a suggestion, but you should see if you could get your hands on some prismacolor pencils if you don't have any already. you can get some AMAZING color out of those things and make the graffiti you draw up on paper look even better.
Re: My graffiti! Not pencils my friend Prisma Art Markers!!!! Dude those things are sick! My camera is acting weird thats why I can't get new ones up sorry... I need to find my stupid charger lol... Clicky Please >>>>> viewtopic.php?f=52&t=13037
Re: My graffiti! i love grafitti. they're really good, i especially like the pink one and the first 2. such vibrant colors.
Re: My graffiti! klaus3 looks really sick imo where did you learn to graffiti? can you do it with spraypaint?
Re: My graffiti! you should try painting on like a huge poster or something and take a picture of it. that would be awesome
Re: My graffiti! Graffiti is art, agreed. I don't think tags are though. They used to be, but they've become just another destructive thing to do. Not always, but at least where i live. I work in a cafe on the beach front, and 3 times this year people have tagged all along the front of the building. Are you saying this should be left alone, and is acceptable and OK to do? Damaging private property in any way is illegal and for good reason. Under bridges, abandoned buildings, train stops e.t.c are different. I enjoy seeing graffiti, i think it adds character and it's a great form of urban expression. Graffiti found in unlikely places is awesome. But just spraying some gang name or some shit on the front of a cafe, knowing the owners will just paint over it the next day anyway. That's not art.
Re: My graffiti! I see what you mean, but listen, if you paint over it, it does NOTHING! People still know someone did it and it was there at one point! The writer, might not care about what its says, as long as people know it was there...
Re: My graffiti! No one knew it was there. It was probably sprayed anywhere from 1am-4am, and painted over again at 5.30am when the owners arrived to start the day. I suppose the person who sprayed it can get something from knowing he hit it up there at one point, but he definately didn't prove it to anybody else.
Re: My graffiti! Belive me, unless you get the color exact, and have alot of it, everyone knows its there...
Re: My graffiti! Where we live, when my bosses painted their cafe, they bought about 10 extra litres, for the sole purpose of covering it up when it got tagged on. The only way to tell was the wet paint signs. But i do see where you're coming from, and i'm arguing the wrong point just because i can Ever had any of your shit tagged on though? I've had the fence outside my house multiple times, our hedge (yes, spray paint works on leafs too), and even my mums horse truck. It can be total CAKE.
Re: My graffiti! Ok, only *osdfgsokergh* toys can be that stupid, they can get into some serious beef for tagging peoples houses, also, can anyone help me find people in Virginia, I know of one person...
Re: My graffiti! Ok! Update!!!!! My camera is working now, here is my first time using spraypaint EVER! Mr. Toast http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u228 ... C00426.jpg http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u228 ... C00429.jpg My Tag: http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u228 ... C00428.jpg
