I hate smart phones, there too complicated, when am i gonna need a bar code scanner on my phone? lol Just a waste of money if you ask me.
Pssh you americans are spoiled brats. You can actually choose what carrier you want. In Ontario, if I wanted an android phone, I HAD to be on Rogers. I've got the HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1). We don't even have the droid up here yet. What's worse yet is my plan: 150 minutes/month unlimited E/W 9pm 500MB data vm, unlimited text, CID $75 Faaaaaaar too expensive, but it's the cheapest plan that has any data. It's absolutely disgusting up here. I'm only on a 1 year contract though, and I got the phone for next to nothing, so it evens out.
yeah, Hally. its expensive in ontario eh? i know my dad has an iphone on rogers with an almost identical plan as you and he is paying 90$ CDN a month (but his work pays for it so ^_^)
I've never even heard of rogers.. The iphone is available in my area, but the provider is at&t, so the service is crap. A girl at my school got one a few years ago, when they were pretty new. It was like $100 a month and she had to stand on top of a hill to get any kind of service. Our only options for phone service are verizon and at%t... I think. I'm finding my phone more and more useful every day. Just today i: Took a picture of the product information lable on the back of our old tv which broke so we could easily tell the folks at the rerpair shop what it was. Comparison shopped the tvs in the store to research the different prices. Took family photos because all of us shutterbugs forgot our cameras Used it as a flashlight - worked real well Went here on nf.net Impressed my uncle Entertained my brothers Plus some other normal, every-day stuff
ugh, i'm prolly neva gonna get one, a) cuz they are too expensive. b) they have a really high radiation thing...so,....
everyone i know who owns an iphone has gone through at least 2 of them...they're too fragile for people who abuse their phones on a regular basis.
I want to kill myself every time I'm on a friend's phone and I text someone. "Sending... Sending... Sending... Sending... Sent!" I can't stand having to wait after sending a text before I can do anything else. It's the little things that you don't really notice that make the big differences - like with blackberries, once you send a text, it goes right back to your inbox or where ever you were before hand. Threaded SMS is amazing, multitasking capabilities are now a must, and who doesn't love that wonderful blackberry button? Yeah, data packages are expensive, but you get used to it. And yeah, I'm a brat for being able to choose my provider, but isn't your unlimited talk and text plan like $25?
I got an iPhone for Christmas and I'm completely in love. It's easy to use and it's just nice not having multiple things to deal with: phone, ipod, gps, internet all in one lovely place.
I LOVE mine. Back in Oct I lost internet at my house, so used my cell phone (its $25 a month required for unlimited net access) Then, In december I got my new laptop, had my phone hooked up to it one day to transfer files and hit "internet sharing" to on, and now, that is how i get on the internet on my laptop It's faster then dial up, but slower then DSL, but hey, its internet! Hopefully soon i'll be able to stop doing it , but for now i'm happy I love my phone!
Got a blackberry 9700 bold. Yes I was one of those people who didn't really like them because it was so trashy, and I mean asian phones might look cool, but I ditched mine because I wanted qwerty really. my BB is great, the text messages are GREAT! It shows like a convo, so it's not inbox and outbox separate, you can see what you typed last and what the person typed last, sorted out by names. I can also get my emails on the go, FB statuses, play podcasts, music, take good pictures, BBM...etc etc, lots of apps and ever since I got it I don't really put it down anymore. I dunno..life has been a lot greater with my blackberry. But my plan is a little pricey...oh well lol.
Ohh! I reallyy want a smartphone again! The plans are a bit more expensive but worth it! I know that verizon is getting the iphone in june and I'm pumped & can't wait to get it! I love iphones!
I have the Samsung Instinct and I love it compared to other phones, but compared to the iPhone it's a piece of junk...iPhones and Blackberries really are the top 2 phones in the US right now when it comes to overall quality/performance and style. If you want a new phone you should consider between those two, up to your user preference.
I have a Nokia n95 and I love it! I think smartphones are definately worth it due to all of the extra features.
I've got a Nokia E51, before that an N70 and before that an 6670. I like smartphones, and I like the idea that you can install programs on them. But installing stuff used to be a lot easier before Nokia implimented its "certificate" garbage Anyone else here had problems with the latest symbian security?
Iphone is overrated, apps are cool but it's not really worth it. I can listen to music surf the web check email on any other smart phone and not be bound to a 2 year contract and get 3G lol
