I think the common sentiment is that the new iPods are not really upgrade-worthy. I'll be sticking with my old mp3 player as well..

the colors are neat, but not that big a deal. apple changed the form back to the 1st gen style because apparently people liked that better? but i like my little pink 2nd gen more than i think i'd like the stick-like new one.
does anyone know if the screen size changed with this generation?

I got a new nano about a month ago. It is really nice, but there is something wrong with the scroll wheel. So I'm taking it back as soon as Apple fixes the problem. I have the yellow now, but I may get the blue next. Who knows. Overall, they're great!

I have to disagree with you. 4 gigs to some people isn't "plenty of music". I have over 40 gigs of music alone. Then a few gigs of podcasts, bringing me up to around 50 gigs or so.

What choices does that leave me?

I can get a Zune for pretty much the same price as an ipod. I sacrifice an interface I know how to use well (since I've been using iPod for over 5 years now), in favour of a product that I don't know if I'll really like.

Don't get me wrong. I hate apple stuff. In general, it's overpriced, but for an iPod (not the nano which I wouldn't get), it's worth it. Especially considering i use ITunes as my music player on my computer. I like the interface, and the instant search function is super handy when you've got 9000 songs.

Oh boy iPods. They should just release new iPods when there are MAJOR MAJOR changes to them. After there are like a dozen new ones every year, it gets kind of tired.

It keeps the buyers interested, and they keep improving. What's wrong with coming out with a new nano each year...? It adds variety.

For an MP3 Im currently using my cell phone and it has more memory than some of the iPods so it really doesn't matter. Plus it can play with or without headphones best buy ever!

i dont really like the new ipod nanos. what was so wrong with the old ones? they were skinnier and i liked that a lot about them. i also dont really like how the new classics are 160 gbs and a bizillion dollars. i have a 30 gb and i only have like 2000 songs on there, theres no way ill ever fill a 30 gb, let alone 160 gbs. xD you must -really- love music to fill 160 gbs.

I don't really like them for a few reasons:

    1. Videos - fail like you said
    2. Battery life - 1 second
    3. Not as good as it's supposed to be

    GET CREATIVE ZEN!!

I like the new iPod Nanos. They're not worth upgrading for the new features they have but they are worth upgrading for how they look and those sexy new colors. But I think I'll stick to my iPhone. No need to carry two iPods at the same time.

    1. If you think the colors are sexy, you might as well spray paint your old one ^^ lol.
    2. iPhone PWNS the iPod Nano... :arf: o_O :p >:) :funky: :back: Lol Smily attack!

    1. Word ;-)
    2. The battery life is realisticly around an hour and 20 minutes when playing music. When playing a video, around 30 minutes. Sucky battery :'(
    3. It has it's improvements, but the iPod nano is just suposed to be a small semi-crappy one. Apple intends for people to buy the Classic and the Touch.

How bad is the battery life? I'm sure it's not that bad..the iPhone's can't be better. On my iPhone I can listen to music for more than 12 hours straight (I think it was this much), but if I use other applications or keep playing around with it, the battery will drain fast. 12 hours is already a lot to me, I can't even listen to 3 hours of music straight, my ears needs rest :)

Edit: I just searched it up online and I can listen to the music for up to 24 hours! That's more than enough time, I don't know how long you listen to your music =3

I think there pretty good, I wish they had like some king of gripping on the sides, seeing as it always falls out of my hands. I also think when it says like 4gb it should be 4gb not 3.65gb or something.
