That total goes up pretty fast. O.O
I hope it is a new plot. TNT usually has a plot during the summer. So who knows.
And if this was a way to get nps out of the economy why would they offer gifts? lol

Think about it. The highest prize you can get is a bg and that's with 2.5 mil nps. People are willing to pay a whole lot more than that just to get a trophy

Yea, that's true. I don't know what TNT's intentions are. So far one of the wheels has been graphically revamped though.
And like you said...people are willing to pay alot for a trophy. Current example: nerkmids. They inflated like crazy!!

..Well I just donated 750k for the stamp.. nothing else really interests me :p

Is there somewhere we can see the highest donators?

(this seems like a bit of a waste... and like mentioned above, a way to get a crapton of NP's out of the economy :p)

There better be some wheel related challenger in this, cause this event is not satisfying

After seeing these prizes and stuff, I'm scared that there won't be. As much as I want it to be a new plot, it just seems like one of those site-wide events. Once all the wheels are saved, it's over. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I dunno - the whole thing seems fishy to me - I think it will eventually turn into something...not sure what, but it can't just be an NP sink - at this point it is already like an NP canyon and there are more wheels to be repaired!

Just seems like an NP sink to me. I have no problem with it :p

although there have been some events pointing to war theories, I doubt this is going to be a war. Read the FAQ for "Save the Wheels" and you'll realize why .

"Each week in July, a different Wheel will be restored to its full glory, with new prizes added, if Neopian philanthropists come through. Plus, all month long, players will have a chance to win super bonus prizes on the Wheels. Hooray"

"Why should I participate in Save the Wheels?

It’s fun; the Wheels need your help; and once saved, they will be all spiffy. They’ll award some new prizes, too! Plus, you might win additional prizes if you donate just the right amount of NP to save the Wheels. ;)"

Yeah... doesn't look very hopeful. Seems more like a NP-sink.

It does seem its just a way to get the np down a lot but will it really matter? i wont even be donating .010% of my net worth so will everyone else? i can't see it to be honest. The items especially the stamps may be worth investing in tho since not many will be released :p

What is "Just the right amount" - Enough to get a damn trophy? That'd be millions and millions...

Well, the whole thing certainly looks and sounds sketchy. I'm hearing alot of rumors that this could be a plot.
The banner looks a little sketchy along with the lenny..

Look at the blue bold/underlined part:
TNT usually has a plot every summer?

Honestly, I see too many people complain about this. It makes sense they would use it as a np sink, after all:
NP sink > = less points to be in the economy
Less neopoints = Neopoint worth more = less inflation = easier for the poor to buy cheap items.
And they are using the AAA to deflate the more expensive items.
Just seems like TNT isn't themselves lately...lol They have been doing tons of stuff for the users on the site..not for money?

I don't wanna donate to give into me losing NP,

but I really want to get my hands on a new trophy. I'm torn.

Also, I agree with that [The Wheel of Knowledge has been saved, but I'm—I mean, the Neopian Conservation Society is nearly broke. Please donate to save the Wheel of Excitement!] quote.

It does seem like it's a foreshadowing to us beating the hell out of the Lenny. :D

Haha, who knows. Maybe it is foreshadowing a war like the conspiracy people claim. Or a plot. Who knows, either one would be fine with me ^_^

i think a number of ppl are doing this : donating for the items then selling them at 10%-20% lesser then donating to get the same item or better item again..this is a great way of getting your donations up

i figured the BG and stamp are the better items to do this trick..

i have so far spent around 7Mil on the items :(..lets hope its for something gooddddddddd

Yes...but people don't realize that TNT is practically offering an investment, or bond if you will call it that. When there are less neopoints those items will become worth alot more...

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Or am I misunderstanding... I thought when there are less nps in the economy, prices should drop?
