    aw

Well I found out a friend of mine's dog just got diagnosed with a week to live.

Kidneys are failing because of the food :(

That is so messed up. The company should be sued for alot.

Apparently they dont think it is worth that much money because they are "just pets" not humans.

But alot of animal livers do think of their pets as equals.

We checked out the list for my cat and he doesn't eat anything on the list. Thank god, I don't know what I would do if that little guy got sick...

And what is wierd is that That substance is outlawed in the US.

So... It was not being used as rat poison. How did it get into the fields of wheat...

Good question, although it's not very hard for a trace of one chemical to get into something and then have it multiply.

I feel bad for all the pet owners that either lost pets or had them get sick. :(

The company shoud definatly get sued, they need to be taught to be more responsible when they are responsible for lives.

Well this thread turned out to spew some awareness :) I'm about to become a first time dog owner and I made a point to decide on dry food instead of wet food thanks to this topic.

    Also

Not only is dry food safer with these kind of concerns but it also does wonders for their teeth and in the long run will cut down on dental bills for your animals.

When choosing a food look at the ingredients. If there are things you havnt heard of, dont choose it. If there is a long list don't choose it.

You are looking for more naturally derived ingrediants. Nutro is a good brand. A little more expensive but worth it. They offer a huge line of products to suit any dog/cat

Also.. I am in school to be a vet tech. lol I'm not just mindlessly rambling. lol

Lol my bird IS a hassle. She's the most spolied, attention seeker I have ever seen. She has a heated perch and a shower perch and a 200 dollar cage. Lol. She shrieks when I walk by and dont say hi. lol But I guess that is because I allowed her to be spoiled :p

My mother advised me yesterday that there investigating dry foods now also. Seems there's still a prob. Looks like people will have to feed food scraps till this is all over with:(
