To me rap just doesn't have any melody in it, sounds like a tape being fast fwd

 

meh i like them both about the same.. im not a huge fan of music but if i do listen to music its usually those 2 types

Rock most definitely.

Rock is timeless. It has hundreds of sub-genres, and millions of bands. The artists are actually talented.

Rap is a fad. Any 12 year old can pick up a mac with garageband (ew), and be a "rapper". Rock takes skill.

 

wu-tang, atmosphere, the roots? any of that? and eminem is pretty good, but nothing compared to the Genius/GZA

 

i either like black metal/hardcore... or rap.

I prefer rock not the heavy metal kind, and some types of rap, not stupid gangster stuff. I like a lot different kinds of music.

 

it's hard to decide through rap and rock for me... i like them both A LOT

 

I listen to mostly rock music. But I also listen to underground Rap and Hip Hop, mainstream sucks though.
