I happen to agree with that. Life in prison would let him rot away to nothing, and give him the rest of his life to think about what horrors he created. However, I think that doing that would be a waste of resources on someone so awful.
I have news for you, they wrote the constitution, they are not being unconstitutional, in this case intent is more important than context and you can determine the intent by reading more of the founding fathers documents and the actual history as it pertains to this statement. You'd have a better argument the death penalty is unconstitutional by citing the 8th ammendment then the symantics of a word taken out of context
Hmmmmm if people really wanted him to really get tortured for all the hurt he has caused, then they should let him rot in prison for the rest of his pointless life. There, in prison, he'll suffer more than death - which is kind of an escape route for Sadame who has killed people like he's a flippin king. So i voted prison and let him rot away there.
I still havent seen context that chnges the meaning of the word inalienable. if a word only has one meaning, how can it be taken out of context? intent has absolutely 0 to do with context. if i wrote a note to someone saying i was going to kill them and what i intended to do was kill them with kindness, well, you know the outcome. lets not forget to look into my background and see that im a nice person, it really wouldnt matter. the document is right there in front of you and you are trying to argue with me about the ink written on it.
Even if we was sent to prision every one else in prision would try to kill him because they are some sain and sadam most likly killed like one of there family members before.
I voted Kill Him, but both could be good options. I personally would rather die than rot in prison for so many years, so maybe prison would be better?
I think that both are equally deserving things for him, but I think killing him might be a tiny bit more cruel, so he should go to jail.
I think he should die because all they're going to do is waste their money feeding him, buying him a prison uniform, plus I believe they have TVs in prison (but it may just be in the case of American prisons) either way, he doesn't deserve TV
They have TV? :? I think you've just changed my views that he should die rather than go to jail
He should definitely rot in prison, given the fact that death is the simple way out. He needs his entire lifetime to realize his crimes. Too bad the court doesn't see it my way.
A death sentence would be appropriate. Or let him rot in jail. Or let each prisoner in the same jail have a crack at him.
He needs to live, but w/ a life sentence. With the possibility of the situation in Iraq getting worse, we can't let him be executed now. His supporters will only ruin what little adjustments that have been made in the country.
I voted that he should spend life in prison because: 1. He's been caught and he knows he's screwed. 2. Killing him would mean that he basically got the "easy" way out. 3. Putting him in a secure prison would be ideal because he has to live everyday in that place knowing that he was the one who put himself there. Good enough punishment for me.
I say life in prison so he can think about what he did. And, its also emotional torture being in a small cage.
