i agree... if you feel like you may need the class or you just plain enjoy it, try to stick with the jerks and get all you can out of the course. my junior year in high school, i was taking a computer science class that i really loved. this guy next to me kept bothering/teasing/harrassing me though and the school would do nothing about it except move him to a seat across the room, which didn't help, so i ended up dropping out of the class halfway through. i regret that decision SO much now because i'd really love to learn a programming language or two and that class would have helped me get the start i needed. i have a funny story about that kid though (oh no! not "funny" story time!). i'm a quiet person, and you know what they say - "watch out for the quiet ones." well, i overheard in the class one day that the kid had come to school and drank a coke bottle full of vodka (which isn't obvious AT all </sarcasm>). right after class i made a beeline for our school police officer's room and turned the dude in. they took him out of lunch and tested him - he had to go to the rroc (a detention school for "troubled" teens) for six weeks. it was the most beautiful six weeks of my life. i know EXACTLY what you mean. i graduated in may but all my friends are moving off to college and i'm starting in the spring of next year. everyone keeps talking about how great college is, and how it's ten times better than high school. it kinda makes me feel like a bum.
well our school started like 3 months ago, i have a crush, i like him maybe because we're alike in many ways, but he can't know..lol it's hard :yup: :back:
urk... everyone here seems so old 0_0; *twiddles thumbs* Is college/university really that great? I heard that it's just really tiring
Well in my case, uni can be pretty tiring. It also depends on the course you do, because some courses have more hours than others. Uni's a bit more flexible. Instead of periods, we have lectures, and they don't take attendance to the lectures. I got to the University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia, and they have iLectures, which is that they record the lectures and put it online. Yeah, I get tired, but that's because I have uni during the day, and work at night. So my days are pretty filled up!
uggggggh i just started at a new school this year. it's horrible i don't know anyone. but if i get my grades up my mom says i can be homeschooled after this quarter, so that's good.
I might have worded that wrong. It's just one a-hole, and that's the professor. He doesn't show up for his own class. WTF is that? I might stay because then I will be done with most of my gen ed.
ooh, thats different 0-0; You're kinda screwed there, unless you can somehow get a new teacher. What sort of professor doesn't show up for classes? He should be sacked.
I agree, I am going to give him hell on Tuesday. Wasting my time and everything. Oh well might take an art class instead.
The College I'm in is a Community College, same as the normal just not as good college life (No Frats, Parties, Bands/Comedies come). But no complaints on the classes, my schedule is only 3 days a week, no class is to hard, and the commute isn't terrible. ~Parisdirt
