That would be amazing....wow Please don't post one-liner spam. Put a little more depth into your posts - Commy
It sounds pretty amazing tbh. I wish I applied myself so that I might get a lovely day job like that. Nahh xD I'm too lazy. The article is quite interesting though. Thanks for the link ^__^
you are SO wrong it is unbelievable i don't want to get too technical, but firstly, if a star exploaded at the end of its lifetime, black holes would never form; it's the imbalance of the gravitational force and the outward force caused by nuclear fusion that causes stars to collapse in on themselves as there is no force pushing outwards as nuclear fusion has ceased ok that's the first bit, secondly, only stars more than three times the mass of our sun will form black holes, anything less will either form a neutron star or white dwarf, however, something as small scale as what would be happening on earth, would just form a sludge of heavier elements. therefore, no black hole is created and the technology is FAR safer than current nuclear power is this is why i have no confidence in society: we need to invest in nuclear fusion R & D to solve the energy crisis and with people thinking like you do (i'm not picking on you personally, just steriotyping your views as those of the general public) we are never going to get any investment in these schemes hope some of this made sense ok, i'm going to keep going on my little informative rant it is what keeps us all alive: if nuclear fusion didn't occur in the sun, then we would all die, so i suppose it HAS happened somewhere EDIT: this is probably my most epic post ever (which isn't a guide) WOOT!
Umm, I'm just going to say this much: they are taking a big shot. If they fail, they might blow up the whole world . I don't think they will even do anything, they are just saying this to be grand and amazing.
read above post for explanation as to why i (and all of the scientific community) disagree with you, although i detect a hint of sarcasm / toying with me by including
Lol, yeah I was joking. I was just saying that if they messed up, they will just fail miserably. They probably will though.
I think if they failed, nothing would happen, really. No giant explosion. And, I'd like to add that there is no generally accepted theory that black holes lead to parallel universes. (I don't believe Everett's Many Worlds theory is generally accepted.) From what I remember, when you enter the event horizon of a black hole, there are some possibilites. Mostly, getting stretched out incredibly thin on a molecular level. And incredible temperatures. I'm pretty sure if we were going to be enslaved by aliens from a parallel universe, it would have happened already. Beings that have the ability to make it INTO and OUT OF a black hole alive could surely travel the 1,600 (I believe) light years to Earth from the nearest black hole. Oh, and. I believe it's FOUR times the mass of our sun. Not that it matters in this situation. The star the scientists may create will be a miniscule fraction of the mass of our sun.
i they could pull this off, my hat tips off to them, but could this really be a safe experient, even at first, what about the long run
whoah, that sounds.. impossible :'D I mean, really? and why? it doesn't make any sense to me ._. but one thing is certain: this sounds dangerous 0; but what do I know..
