Do you want to get a layout free of all those annoying Ads boxes? Well, now you can! Even if you use Ad-Block, the black box wouldn't go away. The solution is a simple GreaseMonkey script, which will delete all the ads and clean the layout so it looks like you have premium!!!

    Instructions:
    • Check if you're using Firefox. If you're not, go download it!
    • Install GreaseMonkey. It is a FF extension which allows you to install scripts to use on web pages.
    • Install the script you can find here.
    • Enjoy neopets without Ads!

no. the forum coding is bbc and the tag you're describing is HTML

The reason why ricky's tags didn't work is because when specifying the URL, he used quotations.

This has been updated. Now it really deletes every black box from neo, except for games...

It is, since it deletes Ads after the page has fully loaded...

The disadvantage to this, (or an advantage, if you're really cautious about being frozen) then, would be that it actually loads the ads, right? As opposed to adblock, which can just block them and therefore make pages load faster?

However, adblock can be detected. Though it's currently not, it is often used to block nonprofitable items when restocking (see semi-legit rsing in chilly's guide). This is against the rules. By loading the ads and not showing them, it doesn't speed up your playing, but it does prevent those annoying ads from being shown for the sake of convenience, and it's undetectable.

However, adblock has a hide ads option too, which from what I can tell does actually load the ads, then just hides them. So this would be the same thing, right?

And has tnt ever actually frozen someone for adblocking images? (*uses adblock exactly for the purpose you described and doesn't want to get banned*)

Yep, it would be the same thing and undectectable if all you do is hide the images after loading them. I doubt that they've actually banned anyone for adblocking because not loading images can be due to a number of different things. Plus, due to the huge number of Firefox+Adblock users on Neopets, they can't be going around banning everyone.

Oh, and if you're afraid of being iced, this is hardly the forum for you to be in ;)

Yes, the above website is full of helping scripts.
Just search "neopets" and get some good ones :)
Thanks Ricky, this drastically reduces the loading time!

Ricky sweetie, instead of linking the script to evilchaos which isn't really functioning, why not link it to nf.net?

There is a problem with this script though. If you enable this script on your browser, everytime a page is loaded, it'll jump slightly because of the removal of ads. This is really frustrating, especially if you wanna restock but the page jumping causes you to miss the item. Games like Invasion of Meridell also becomes hard to play because when the page jumps, it causes you to click on a square that you didnt want. Adblock is still the best option for removing ads.

Yep Jubixion, you're right. However, back in the time when I made this script AdBlock wasn't removing the frame the ads was in, but it would only "hide" the Ads, leaving a fugly blank space in the page. Now adblock works slightly better and this script + adblock can actually make a page look nicer, as adblock will prevent the "jump" and the script will remove the blank spaces (adblock still doesn't remove ALL the blank spaces, unless you write a rule for it to do so on neo).

And Hally, I will do that :)
