Should gay people be allowed to have kids?

Gay people already do have kids--artificially and by adoption. There is no legislation that I have heard of to try to put a halt to it. Other than ultra conservative and hardcore religious types, no one really has a problem with it in the US, so frankly, I don't know what the point of this thread is.

 

gays should have the right to have children

in the Netherlands it's normal, but there are a lot of countries that frown upon it, which i find weird.
Statistics show that gay couples stay together more than straight couples, isn't that already something good ?

It doesn't matter what sex you are, but if you take care of your children and et them grow up to good adults

 

It's infuriating that this is even still a question in our society. Look at a picture of NPH and his partner with their kids and try to tell me they're not better parents than most straight couples.

 

To me its the same as hetro couples. Im sure children will be loved just the same.

Of course they are. They have as much rights to have children as much as straight people. Why do homosexuals have such a stigma? They are just as human as anyone. It's just a different gender preference :/

If only our society could just accept gays/lesbians as they are and not treating them any different. That way, the kids with gay parents would not have a problem in school because it is accepted.

I think anyone who can be a good parent should have children. If you can't even handle yourself you shouldn't have children. I don't think what sex you prefer really has a part in here.

 

It takes more planning and thought whereas 30% of all born babies in 2012 were by accident.
With gay couples, there's no accidental pregnancies.

I dont think it matters whether they are gay straight, purple, black .. blah etc. As long as a child has two loving parents who are mature & can support the child with all it needs & more i dont see the problem

 

Of course they should be allowed to have children! Nothing separates straight couples and gay couples other than some sexual organs, why should that make such a huge impact on their lives?
It's disgusting when people are against this.

 

Im gay and im going to have kids whether anyone likes it or not
a persons orientation doesn't rub of on their offspring, and if i adopt a girl I would know how to take just as good care of her as a mother would.
if youre saying that gays shouldnt be allowed to adopt children then you're just ingorant

Anybody who will be responsible parents should be allowed to have kids, it's funny that many parents have no capability of being a parent.

 

correct me if i am wrong, but it is the straight parents who are producing gay children right?

While I think they should have kids, they SHOULD NOT be allowed to force their beliefs and sexual orientation to their children.

 

I agree with OP. The gender/orientation of the parents really don't have anything to do with it. There are plenty of straight people that have no business having children..

 

Why shouldn't they be allowed to have kids. It's all the same in my book.

 

Of course they should be allowed to have kids. Especially in the push for equality in modern day society.
