alot of the times the hashes aren't directly from neopets. The hackers go around to sites such as these and other neopets sites and hack into them. They steal the account info of the members and try to match up member names with neopets names and quite often you find people will use the same password for these sites as they do neopets.

    woah..this is really serious stuff..

hmm..meaning if you use disposable emails, you are at a higher risk right? what if the emails i use are all yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc? will i be safer in a way?

Those are hash crackers. Just change your passwords and you'll be fine.

I use the same pass for all of my neopets accounts, but they're fortunately significantly different from the one I use everywhere else, so I'm less worried now

no. as long as they get into your email, you're not safe.

definitely not. PIN does not secure your account as much as you believe it to be.

you're not at a higher risk. you're open to everybody to enter your account. yes, slightly safer.

yes, dont make your passwords easily guessable, a alphanumeric long password would be almost impossible to guess. using one that doesnt make sense makes your password more secure, like 3u98ghu398978

Some hash lists are available publicly actually.
