The dude in my sig was the very first thing I ever attempted to draw digitally. I first did the outline in pencil, scanned it in, and did the rest with a mouse in open canvas. I don't think it turned out bad for a first attempt. I'm looking in to getting a tablet soon though.
If you are interested in digital art, then tablets are by far the best way to go. I know someone people are perfectly pacified with a mouse, but the lines are not as clean and you don't get natural curves with a mouse.
I can never manage to get my lines as straight as I want them. Whether with a mouse or with a tablet. Any advice, which one is easier would you say? I should probably try digital art again. Haven't done it in a while. I'll probably always prefer good old pencil and paper though. :/
I use a mouse because I don't have a tablet. I would love to have a tablet to try it out. I can draw some all right art on MS paint with just the mouse, but it takes WAY too long and I don't have time to do it anymore. Plus I haven't done that in years, not really my own graphical art anyway. I just downloaded the paint program from paint.net today so I am hoping to figure that out and start making some bad a** graphics.
Right now I use a mouse and when I use mouse to draw.. my drawings are so weird and ugly. I really wish I have a tablet and hopefully in the future I can get one.
Not at all. At first I was only using my tablet for graphics and drawing. I have 2 pcs and one of them is in a rather cramped space so I decided to try neopets with my tab. Worked out perfectly. Takes a few days to get into it but I wouldnt turn back now.
I always use a mouse for graphics/effects, and a tablet for drawing. I've had my tablet for about 6-7 years and it's still working fine now, even though i've moved it around so much kinda have been looking for a smaller tablet though, but that probably won't happen until later when i have the money to spare
I mainly draw with a tablet when using Photoshop. For effects and the rest I use a combination of the mouse/tablet (whatever strikes me at that moment to be the most handy way to get the thing done ). Can definitely advise buying a tablet if you want to digitally draw.
I use a mouse for everything. I have always wanted a tablet for drawing though but I just haven't had enough reason to spend the money
I can advise Intuos if you are going for a tablet - the Intuos4 small (A5 format) is at the moment quite cheap if you want to go try a tablet out. I use my A5 for travel, with an A4 format for home use.
