I read that last year. VERY HOOKING If you want a fun read, I'd pick that. But not if you're looking for good literature =P Have you read the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time? (or something like that). It was really good. It's from the perspective of a boy w/ autism, and his live.
^^ Yes I have read that and I must agree because it's in the perspective of a child with autism you really get into the book/character.
I've almost finished 'The Minotaur takes a Cigarette Break' by Steven Sherrill and I'm just about to start 'The Comfort of Strangers' by Ian McEwan. I started reading Ian McEwan after reading 'Enduring Love' for A Level English. I think he's a brilliant author and so would recommend anything by him, in particular 'Saturday', 'In between the Sheets' and 'Black Dogs'. I loved all of them.
omfg I LOVE STEPHEN KING! my older sister ashley's read all of his books, i have yet too :cry: im mostly on the computer or helping others in the family, i dont get a lot of in time with my reading but i wish i did, Salems Lot has to be THE best! i looked up the movie on the internet and read about how they messed it up, i didnt have the haert to see my favourite book put into a horrid movie
At the moment im reading a few books: Needful Things - Stephen King Rose Madder - Stephen King & Russell Brands Biography One of my favourate books is 'Of Mice and Men'
oo. I also love Stephen King!! I just finished Misery and The Dead Zone awhile back, and I finished both books in about 5 days. lol. Hooked me in! I also am TOTALLY looking foward to this new Harry Potter book!
I'm not a fan off harry potter. tried to read it once got the first page and gave up. But Stephen King is a wonderful author. Its what got me into reading.
in books i dont like Harry Potter too.. but in movies i really really love Harry Potter Because of its effects
I love that book! It's very interesting and I couldn't put it down and probably finished it the same day I started reading it. Kinda similar to that would be The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst. I'd recommend reading that if you're into mystery novels. I'd give a summary but I might slip and give the story away. I also read these other books last year for my English class but I thought that all of them were fun. A Clockwork Orange, Pop. 1280, Possessing the Secret of Joy, and As I Lay Dying. Some of those books require some thinking though. I'd also recommend Ayn Rand's books but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in that. Try reading Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead and The Anthem if you feel like reading something philosophical. Edit: P.S. I hated Of Mice and Men as well. Reading through that story didn't really impact me in any way so I disliked it very much.
I'm currently reading the Yu-Gi-Oh manga o.o; And it's not that bad =/ But I don't read novels, so ^^;;;
^^ Finally someone else says they dislike this "classic" book. It's boring xD The only manga I have ever read is the Battle Royale series because I love the Battle Royale story so much
Haha, Yu-gi-oh! That's funny. I find the show more entertaining. But Yu-gi-oh! is old now so it's not really appealing for me anymore. Battle Royale! Awesome! I saw the movie completely. I only read bits and pieces from the novel. I can't read it too long because I get creeped out. The descriptions are more violent that the actual film. What genre is the book "A Million Little Pieces"? Sounds intriguing when you said it is violent. Why? I don't know. Maybe I'm going to be in over my head when I read it.
I'm reading Mort by Terry Pratchett. one of the Discworld series . i think its funny ^^ and i highly recommend elven star by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman . this one is very very very funny. and this tome is a part of a series too but i can't remember the name right now =(
LMAO How do you read Where's Waldo!? I'm currently reading some short stories by other authors on a story forum... None so far that have caught my eye to recommend... :cry:
^^ I know the descriptions are really violent and the book doesn't skip anyone. I love Mitsuko. She is like a black widow and everyone she kills dies in an interesting way. She has a lot of background story as well which makes you love the psychotic woman xD I think the main thing about the book is though you actually feel sorry for the majority of the students when they die because you get to know the characters... all 40 of them xD I've only read it twice and the names are strange to me but I can remember almost all of them.
I've been reading Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. One of the many books thats been on my shelf for months, but due to school I haven't had time to properly read. It's extremely well-written, totally inappropriate, and charmingly self-aware. At least, the first third or so of the book is
I just finished Angels & Demons, pretty good book.... nothing's what it seems Also i'm planning to read all 6 harry potter books in english and spanish again... just to wait for DH to be released
