Like what is it about an activity that makes it a sport, like some people think jumping rope is a sport some don't, some people think that bowling is a sport some don't, so what makes a sport a sport?

A sport is an activity or hobby that requires physical AND mental power, requires both. Thats my idea of a sport, because if it were just physical: like weight lifting, doesnt seem like much of a sport and just mental: like smart people competetions, def not a sport :p

Rugby, cross-country, and track are the sports i play.. rugby requires mostly physical power, but it has rules and wutnot so its a sport :p... and running just takes tons and tons of mental confidence and you must be really in shape.

thats a good point, but what about sports like ping pong and badminton, they require mental power but not so much physical power

Wow, gold just wow. Anyway as I said in the skateboard topic a sport is any competitive activity which involves more then one person. So, yes many things are sports. [sex on the otherhand in most cases isn't realy a competition]

...Could you please rethink that? Everything is "working out". Drinking water for instance uses energy, therfor according to your definition drinking water is a sport.

    let's try this

    Sport: (those definitions that apply)

    1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
    2. a particular form of this, esp. in the out of doors.
    3. diversion; recreation; pleasant pastime.

Well I don't think I'll argue with the dictionary guys, some of the people I've met in sports were dumb as a post, and that was on a good day.

You just contradicted yourself. Walking around a house has the potential to make you lose weight. Next you went on to say anything at all. After this you stated that a physical exertion which you consider bad does not apply. You directly went against the meaning you had already set, therfore your definition is now void.
