Sorry, but that poem makes no sense to me. Why would white people be yellow when they're scared ? And black people are grey when they die too.
Because if we paid more in taxes, it could be used to improve the subway, busses, hospitals, help people that are less fortunate etc. =)
Racism really offends me mostly because I'm black, And I'm not trying to take credit here but its usually the black people and the people from different countries that are getting picked on alot, And its just because people have mean minds (I really didn't know what else to say) and they just want to say mean stuff to us to make them look cool or something and another reason is because, They just hate us like this one kid at my school I was walking around then she started saying "Oh god EWWW A BLACK PERSON EWW!!! get your dirty self away from me!" not that particular dirty, The one where you get messy =/[/size]
racism is still really bad out here in California in a way. But its because "in my opinion" Everyone is classifying them selfs, i really dont understand why that is. But most people will joke around about being black or whatever, Its really stupid we are all the same. Stick the the silly saying: We are all pink on the inside. :arf:
Down here in South Africa we have quite a lot of rascism going on. But it's white people that are getting the raw end of the deal. It's not called segregation, or apartheid. it's called Affirmative Action. which means, effectively, that an untrained black person will get any job over a highly trained white person, just because he is black. People always think rascism means white people being predjudiced against other races, but it's the reverse down here. It's impossible for a white person to get a job, and to get into some universities. We joke and say that if a white person wants to get into UCT, we say "Don't even bother applying, your skin is the wrong colour" Rascism is a horrible thing...
When I was reading that, I just thought of something. Here in Holland, we aren't allowed to wear any caps at school. But the moslims are allowed to wear their headscarf. Which I find quite annoying. But okay, it's their religion. And with our passports, our ears must be shown, our hair isn't allowed to be over our eyes, otherwise you'll be fined. But the moslims, they can keep their burka on, and not show their face. That's just racism against non-moslims.

It's not racism against non-moslims. You could claim that it's discrimination against you, but that isn't true either. People wear caps as a fashion statement, moslims wear headscarves and burkas as a part of their religion. You don't need to wear a cap, while a moslim can feel the need to wear a headscarf as a part of her devotion for Allah. Totally different things.
So what if I stated that stalking a person the whole time was my religion ? Should that be fine then too ?
I think that would violate some basic human right, which is different to wearing a head scarf... but if you look at some religions, smoking weed is allowed, even if the country itself doesn't allow it.
Geert Wilders here in Holland is trying to ban the Koran because of stuff like that. In the Koran it says that it's allowed to kill anyone that says something bad about moslims, or the Koran. The last person that tried to stop the moslims here in Holland was killed by a moslim. What I'm trying to say is : I'm not against black persons in general, not against moslims in general, but the radical moslims are just incredible. There may be radical christians too, but I never hear about them killing a person, or them having a suicide attack.
All religions when turned radical becomes scary. Is there really something like that said in the koran? Seriously that is really bad. According to such a koran, half the world can be killed. :| :|
As haspopped said, there's a difference between wearing a burka and stalking someone. You don't hurt someone if you wear a burka. Don't tell me that you're surprised that a person who is trying to stop one of the basic human rights was killed? Sure it could have been handled differently, but if it had been a person who was trying to stop freedom of speech, the same thing would probably have happened. Just because you don't hear about them doesn't mean that they don't exist. Watch "Jesus Camp", and you'll see some scary things about radical Christians. The main difference between radical Christians in the states, and radical muslims in the middle-east is that the Christians go together and vote for a president that will do the dirty work for them. And in the bible it says that you're allowed to stone people to death for various reasons. And Republicans think it's okay to kill other people just because they don't have the same values as themselves. The same goes for communists. Stop trying to prove that only muslims are the bad people, there are rotten apples in every basket, learn that.
Then christians should be forbidden to do stuff like that from the Bible too. You hear here on the news every 2 or 3 days that a person is killed, and it's 99/100 times by a muslim. Don't you agree then that something has to be done against that ?
That's a complete lie. You haven't done your homework on this. Not even a fourth of all suicide bombers are religious, and suicide bombing has never occured in a country that wasn't taken under occupation. This is facts from a pretty long report from 2005 (or 2004) by a general in Pentagon. Just because an attack happens in the middle-east, it doesn't mean that muslims has done it. Everyone from the middle-east isn't a muslim. edit; I may have gotten some numbers wrong, the point is that there was alot more suicide bombers that aren't muslims. I will try to find this report and post a link for those who are interested. It's quite hard since the media didn't take much notice of it.
That is the epitome of a rascist statement. There are many other people responsible for the murders in our world. Rapists, psychopaths, hijackers, gangmembers... How could you say that 99% of them are perpetrated by muslims?

Personally, I think racism is horrible, everyone should be treated equally because GOD created us EQUALLY, our skin is just a thing on the outside, in the inside, we each have a heart and feelings .
