I speak very good English and Chinese (mandarin); I plan on learning Japanese so I can visit Japan in the near future to experience the culture there.
Moderately easy for me. Just make your g's harsh, and all your a's become ah's. (instead of ey which is common in english words like 'mate')
Chinese was my first language, I came to Canada in grade 3 so I began learning english then, right now in school we are learning French. I wish you can learn chinese here, I'd be getting As
I know English, and have 10 years of Spanish education, and a pending certification from the Spanish Government (ha!). Also, this is my second year of Chinese.
French! My french teacher is well...awesome, hyper, and weird at the same time...there is no one word to describe her....
What's wrong with you guys? You're all bilingual/trilingual/+! As for me, I took Spanish for 4 years in high school, but that ended in failure because I still can't communicate much at the end of 4 years. Let's hope I have better luck with Chinese.
Haha, I know what you mean. I speak English (duh) and I took French for three years in junior high. That didn't work out for me so I tried out Japanese for the first two years of high school and at the end I still don't know anything. I think I may try again with another language someday, like maybe Russian, but half the time I can barely communicate in English so I'm thinking I should just give up.
I think the key is to either learn the language at an early age (too late for us!) or to study abroad. Once you get into college, you might have better luck with learning a language because there are programs that allow you to study abroad for a semester or two. If you already get a lot of financial aid from the college, you can pretty much go abroad for free! In fact, I'm going to China for a semester once I finish my sophomore year of college. That should at least somewhat fix my terrible accent.
English French (learning @ School) Cantonese (Fluent) Mandorin (Basics) ~ I want to learn Spanish and/or Japanese
I can speak, read and write in English. Jag kan prata, lasa och skriva svenska. Je peux parler, ecrirer et ecouter en francais. I know a few chinese words because I like chinese food and I can read off the english menu with pin yin. I can listen to like really basic chinese too, but that's as far as I can go unfortuantely
English is my first language and I speak a little French, a little Spanish, and a little Hindi (though it is probably really rusty as I haven't used it at all in 2 years).
I can speak Mandarin and English, and did a bit of French at school. Looks like that's a popular combination for some reason
I know English, some Cantonese, Mandarin, bits and pieces of japanese, spanish, and korean...by bits and pieces, I mean a few words here and there haha
English is my first language, French second (though I am not 100% fluent, probably closer to 90%), Ukrainian third (can't write it, speak basic only, but understand verbal 100%) I'd like to learn Spanish if I could find the time to do so :/
