Yeah I'd absolutely love to, but the scene in NZ is nowhere what it is in the US and UK. And it's all who you know rather than what you know anyway, so I'm trying to get myself in the right position to get involved. Point me to the spot where i said Lance Armstrong is not a role model, or only one because of his genetics. He is a role model to me, I wear his charity and his name on my wrist every day. All I said is that he has amazing genetics which enhance his performance. He didn't win 7 consecutive Tour de France titles by getting complacent. He puts in an amazing amount of determination and discipline into his training. You've completely misunderstood me. That last line about his parents in the bedroom, a joke. Sarcasm, comical relief. Not serious. The man is incredible. Sure have
I believe Zyphen was referring to this. which could have been taken seriously. When I first read it, I was like "Whaaattt", but only after I realized you weren't serious. As for people who inspire me, none that I can think of is brought to mind. I have set goals that I want to accomplish, and they inspire me to go the extra kilometer, rather than role models.
When I made this topic I didn't have role models in mind. I was thinking about the people who inspire me and all the ones that come to mind are people none of you will likely ever know. I get inspired more from talking to people and the things they say, their opinions and their state of mind rather than who people are or their accomplishments, or relative 'success'. A homeless man on the street can give you the best advice about life.
Yeah, I thought you were serious Anyway, I feel the same way you do filthy, my biggest role models are people that none of you know(my grand-parents).
id have to say everyone i come accross everyone either makes good choices or bad the people making good choices, i like to follow in there foot steps the people making bad (like i used to) you learn from them and yourself and take the lessons in life and grow from them no one is perfect of course but you can always be better
Or take the bad choices yourself and see what you get out of them There's no good in living a sheltered and risk-free life based on what happened to other people, but I do see what you mean. I'm just pointing out that there is such thing as taking that philosophy too far. 90% of the time it's for the good though
Ahhhh, I had two of those this past summer. I hope you have a quick and painless recovery! Anyway, about who inspires me... I don't know, I guess any time I hear a really good song on the radio or something, it inspires me to write my own song. Or any time I see someone in concert on TV, or in person, it inspires me to try taking a step forward to getting famous myself (that's my dream ). Or there's random times where something inspires me to better myself in some way or to clean my room and make it spotless or something. Kind of simple I guess, lol, but inspiration nonetheless.
The bands that i listen to inspire me. Namely Switchfoot, POD, Ken Oak Band, Oasis, Beatles, and many others I'm too lazy to list.
My friends inspire me in almost everything. Certain friends influence me in my photography [either because they're beautiful and just scream take-a-photo-of-me or because they take good photos themselves]. Some of them inspire me in my EMS work and others just inspire me to be a better person. I can't say there's one specific person that inspires me. rather, I try to gather inspiration from everyone around me
well.... I think that Martin Luthar King is inspirational. His most famous speech is truly inspirational. Against all odds, he helped the black community and inspired many to fight for equal opportunities. You will need great courage and will power to do so. The manner in which he delivered his speech was also excellent. You could almost feel his heart and soul. It is so much better than violence because violence would not get you anywhere.
My fav author is one of the biggest people that has inspired me, he inspired me to start my own writing, the person that inspires me is Ted Dekker.
and why would that be? Why would such people inspire you. Shouldn't it be that people who have it harder than you inspire you?
