I always thought the world was going to end on December 21, 2012, or at least according to all the "prophecies".
Not only floods, but hurricanes, fires, and earthquakes, which is all a result of pole shift, which itself is a result of the earth being aligned with the sun and the center of the galaxy. >.>

So whether the world will end tomorrow or not, it matters not. Just a little wisdom dispensing moment I had there. But seriously, i heard the LHC chance of destroying the world is pretty much microscopic to none. Theres a much more real chance of a country getting trigger happy with nukes or us screwing over our food resources.
Well eventually everything on Earth WILL die. When the Sun starts expanding at exponential rates, it'll fry everything on Earth to a crisp. Then the Sun will "die", and everything that isn't dead from the heat will die from the cold.

On a rather scary note, NASA has stated themselves that we are gonna see a scary rise in solar flares and other radiation emitted from the sun due to a decrease in the earths defences against such forces starting in 2012. Just felt like throwing that out there.
I heard it would be in 2012 (like you all said) but I've heard a lot of people say that it might end in 2023. Because 23 is some kind of number that shows up everywhere eg: 23 seconds for blood to fully run through the body, 2+3=5 points on the star (satanic-ish star, but whatever) I forgot all the rest. I really hope nothing happens in 2012 because thats when I graduate. I don't want to waste my time going to school for nothing. But at least I wont be bored... and I wont have to go to college for a long time, I'd only finish a semester I guess. If Jesus said he doesn't know when he'll come back, he had 2000+ years to figure it out, maybe God told somebody during this time. The 2012, 2023, or even the 2009 theories could be right. As for the Mayan calendar, it ended on 2012. They may have though they'd update it, but they didn't. Or maybe they lost interest in making it. It doesn't exactly mean that the world would end, wouldn't they say something about it? Or would they just leave us hanging? idk .-.
Oh please, I am 100% sure the world will not end anytime soon. Really, there are many superstitions floating around, and they all seem bogus
