Wow. That's insane. Since I stopped drinking soda, I've been drinking water like crazy. I haven't had any problems... and I'm in a constant state of drinking when I'm sitting around. o_o

But in the news article, someone said everyone at the station should be fired for that.... but really, who thinks about dying because of water consumption? Water is supposed to be healthy. Who would ever think that that would happen? Nobody. Nobody knew, not even the station, not the contestants. Nobody was to blame, it was just a lack of knowledge all around the table.

Wow. This is really useful information for the future.
    Thanks.

I dont know about that Soranda. I did about the dangers of excessive water consumption at secondary school, though that may just be in the UK. (?)

I think that any contest involving physical feats of "endurance" like this should be heavily researched and have medical help available on hand. Otherwise you are just begging for something to cock up, like this.

If you go to the bathrrom regularly you should be fine. These people drank every 15 mins and each time the amount they had to drink was more.

That's so weird. I guess the phrase, "Too much of a good thing can kill you" really does apply to this situation...

First a topic about left hand or right hand... and now a subject about a woman that foolishly drank too much and stopped herself from going to the bathroom...

this subject is getting too Wiierd for me!

    Wow, that's disturbing...
Especially the way water actually kills you.
At first when you mentioned it, well, after the OMGWTF part, I thought it would be from her bladder just blowing up, but from the brain just going crazy?
    Wow.

I really really doubt you can die from drinking-a-lot-of-water-but-still-in-a-fairly-normal-amount.
And it's a lot of water in a short period of time, and when they say a lot, they mean A LOT.
She was at a water drinking contest, after all.

    This Substance:
    - It causes erosion
    - Deadly if inhaled
    - Deadly if consumed in large quantities
    - If mixed with sulfate, creates acid rain.
    - The list goes on.

This substance is in use in your everyday home! its time we did something about this.

To ban the use of this substance aptly named Dihydrogen monoxide or hydroxic acid, please post here.

(if you didn't know, its water i'm talking about)
