"Friends are like Slinkys. They aren't really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one falling down the stairs." HAHA how true. i cant resist a laugh when my fren embarasses him or herself in public.
"A friend is like a rainbow that brightens your life when you've been through a storm" :yup: I also found this one(it just makes me laugh): What happens if you get scared half to death twice? Please do not gravedig - Commy
this is a good one.. i havnet seen it, can we resurrect? I have some good ones.. If the powers that be (commy) do not agree, then delete + lock shit i lost my list of em..
Words I like to live by: "Don't give up what you want most for what you want at the moment." "The difficulties and struggles of today are but the price we must pay for the accomplishments and victories of tomorrow." and my favourite... "Hearts live by being wounded." - Oscar Wilde
"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music." "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work... I want to achieve it through not dying." - Allen "We will either find a way or make one." - Hannibal "If someone wants a sheep, then that means that he exists." - Saint-Exupery "The end excuses any evil." - Sophocles "An intellectual is a person who has discovered something more interesting than sex." - Huxley "If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing." - France There are more, but I'll leave off for now. I'm a big fan of quotations...it's part of the word nerd job description.
Here are a few of my favorite (albeit pessimistic) ones : "When life gives you lemons, sit down and eat your damned lemons!" and "Life is like a box of chocolates. Eventually you'll just get sick of it all." >_>
I got it from an American Eagle shirt a few years ago. It had "L'amour" in big letters and in small letters underneath it said : "Love the things that make you happy." Since then Ive always loved using that quote when trying to go through problems and regular life drama!
a lot of people like this quote but i don't get why if i hit you in the face with a baseball bat and your survived, did it make you stroner? i think not
Think of it on an emotional plane. If you're able to work through the reconstructions, the surgeries, the rehab and all that, then you're going to learn something from all of it. You'll be stronger in the fact that you appreciate life. Besides - if they put a steel plate in your face, like they did with my cousin when his cheekbone and nose were shattered, then you will, in fact, be literally stronger. "Buy your own gas, you bug-eyed mooch. It's your car that costs more than my house!" - the band Ludo, in 'Good Will Hunting By Myself.'
"To put it simply, Dungeons and Dragons reinvented the use of the imagination as a kid’s best toy…. Looking around my toddler’s room full of trucks, trains, and Transformers, I want to cry out, “I created worlds with nothing more than a twenty-sided die!" -Peter Bebergal Ah D&D... *sigh*
I kinda like one by a roman poet known as Ovid: "Time is the devourer of all things". Can be a little morbid if you think about it but still. I like it.
Here's my favorite quote! "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." - Harvey Dent (The Dark Knight) I don't know why I like this one but it's lightheaded!
"Life is like a sh*t sandwich...the more bread you have the less sh*t you eat" "Prepare to be spontaneous tomorrow" "There is no such thing as gravity...the Earth sucks"
"I once shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas, I wouldn't know..." "Either she's dead or my watch has stopped" "I could dance with you 'til the cows come home. On second thought, I'd rather dance with the cows 'til you come home!"
Or if you fall off a building and become a quadruple paraplegic and suffer from amnesia, does that make you stronger? >_> yeah I think about these things a lot.
